Jafeth
Lead Teacher, Koalas
Jafeth started ELDC in February 2024. Jafeth is new to the PNW having just moved here from Peru. In Peru, she worked in a variety of careers, from marketing to childcare. While working in childcare in Peru, she worked with 3-4 years old She has a bachelors degree in communication.
Melissa
Lead Teacher, Kangaroos
Melissa started ELDC in March 2021. Melissa has a BA in Cinema Studies from the University of Oregon. She has spent time nannying for her nieces and nephews. She was a tour guide in Seattle and feels she is able to teach people of all ages! She loves being in nature and is local to the PNW. She has a wonderful sense of humor and the kids are getting big laughs with her!
Erika
Lead Teacher, Kangaroos
Erika started ELDC in May 2023. She has two sisters and a cat name Bricks. She is new to the field of early education, but loves younger toddlers. She enjoys going to concerts, going to restaurants, spending time with friends, and being outside. She is currently working on he AA in ECE at North Seattle.
Aubrie
Lead Teacher, Kookaburras
Aubrie started working at ELDC in September 2019. Aubrie has been working in childcare for four years and before joining us at ELDC, she taught a toddler classroom in Yakima. In her free time, Aubrie enjoys photography, hiking, traveling, and baking. Aubrie holds an AA and a BAS in ECE from North Seattle College.
Annie
Lead Teacher, Kookaburras
Annie started at ELDC in September of 2005. She has a Bachelors Degree and before ELDC, she worked with autistic children at The Child School. Annie is passionate about creating and implementing the highest quality curriculum, and enthusiastically researches the most current ECE studies to share with the center.
Lauren
Lead Teacher, Wombats
​Lauren started ELDC in June 2022. They took a break to hike the Pacific Trail and came back October 2023. They are a graduate from UW with a BS in Human and Animal Physiology. They have three years of working and volunteering as an Aikido teacher serving children ages 3-14. They also have tutored math and science for high school students and was a teacher’s assistant at UW. They love all things outdoors, like backpacking and climbing. They also volunteers at the Seattle Aquarium.
Devon
Lead Teacher, Wombats
Devon started ELDC in May 2023. Devon has worked mostly with school age children at Brightmont Academy. She also has experience babysitting family members. Devon is the oldest of three sisters and grew up on Anderson Island. She has a degree in English and Linguistics. She became interested in teaching after taking an early childhood language acquisition course. She loves to game, draw, write, and spend time with her dog, Diego.
Garrett
Assistant Teacher
Garrett started ELDC in June 2022. Garrett has experience working with school age children as a teachers aid. Garrett has a BS in Graphic Design and is passionate about music. Garrett loves using art to foster imagination and individuality. Garret is a wonderful cartoonist and uses it to connect to children.
Aubrie H
Assistant Teacher
Aubrie started ELDC in December 2023. Aubrie is from California and has been in Seattle for two years. Before coming to ELDC, she was a lead teacher at Bright Horizons working with young preschoolers. Aubrie is a enjoys working in all preschool classrooms, but really loves the 2’s and 3’s.
Mariia
Assistant Teacher
Mariia started ELDC in January 2024. Mariia is new to the PNW having recently moved from New York. She is originally from Ukraine. In New York, she taught in a child care center in their 2 year-old room . She enjoys creating learning experiences for children, because she finds their “ah ha moments” the best part of her work.
Alexis
Classroom Aide/ Sub
Alexis started ELDC in June 2022, but has been a part of the ELDC community her whole life and has always had a goal of being more a part of the community by becoming a staff member. She goes to Mountlake Terrace high school and does part-time college work at Edmonds. She likes to hike, read, embroider, make jewelry, and play the ukulele.
